downshifting problem?

Hi everyone,
Does anyone ever had a problem with the 4runner "pulling" when downshifting. I have an automatic and between 35 and 25 there is this weird sensation that the car is braking if I let off the accelerator, I am not braking, just coasting with a mysterious tugging slowing me down. Anyone?

It's probably just holding 3rd or 4th gear instead of 'coasting' in 5th. What you describe is pretty normal sounding to me. Similar thread here, many of the comments seem similar to yours.

Its normal, holding a lower gear to maintain speed downhill. You can sometime 'trick' it into upshifting by gently pressing on the gas so not as to accelarate but it tends to upshift and stop holding speed under compression.
