Downsizing 31" tires

Anybody here gone from 31x10.5x15's down to a 235/75/15 ?
Any pics with the 235's ?
Most people talk about going up in tire size and how that affects their truck. I figured going down in tire size could help w/ gas milage, power, etc.

1995 4wd 4runner SR5, auto, 150k.

I have a 1993 4Runner V6 5-speed manual and I recently upgraded to 31's from P235/75R15.

Here is a picture comparing the two tire sizes on my 4Runner.
Top picture is the P235/75R15 and bottom picture is the BFG 31x10.5 All-Terrains.

With the P235s I got around 17 mpg. With the 31's I get about 15 mpg.

I had 31x10.50's on my 90 for a while. Worse mileage and power than 235/75. Back to 235/75 now.

The 31x10.50's look better though.

I agree, the 31"s look better. They fill up the wheel wells and make the truck look more off-road ready !!
I'm just thinking of my options for new tires and increasing my gas mileage. It sounds like there is not much difference in the gas mileage between the 2.

Here is a picture of my rig. I took the running boards off and installed Monroe Airshocks and new Moog coils in the back. I am running 31"s right now. I believe the previous owner cranked up the front torsion bars some.

it will definitely increase your power and fuel mileage...i was looking at mounting some 225/65/15 (stock) on an extra set of rims for snow tires, but 235 are cheaper, like 10$ a tire.
