draining windshield wiper fluid… is there a way?

sounds like a dumb question as the obvious answer is to just use the sprayer. but as the winter is approaching, i want to rid all of my 50/50 (fluid/ water) mixed wiper fluid in one shot to replace it with 100% fluid. is there a way to do this? thanx in advance!

You could siphon out the majority of the fluid directly from the reservoir with a tube or squeeze bulb turkey baster.

that's a good idea… not sure the turkey baster would work cuz if memory serves well, the pipe leading to the basin is super long and has an angle to it half way down… thanx for the idea!

Follow the hose to the washer pump and remove the rubber hose from the reservoir. That should drain out the water.

Siphon it. Get some thin clear tubing @ home depot for a $1, put it in the washer tank, get the flow started, put the other end into empty milk jar on the floor. 5 minutes later tank will be mostly empty.

I would just continue to top off fluid with 100 'proof'. This should continue to lower the water to fluid ratio and increase the protection level without going through all the trouble of trying to drain the system.

It takes seconds

Take a milk jug and place it on the wheel hub that's next to the hose that connects the hoses to the hood. Pop off that hose and place it into the milk jug and close the hood slightly so you can put up the windshield whipers. I used a basketball to hold the hood up just enough to clearly see the milk jug. Just hold the sprayer until the you empty it out. Now it's just a matter of putting new fluid in and reconnecting the hose.
