Thanks a lot bud. This should give you an idea of what we would need to measure. This is a 5th gen in the photo.



The 5th gen back door has a curve to it, so the distance from the door to the back seat is longer in the middle of the door, than on the outer edges, so that can mess up being able to close the door.



Also, if the 4th gen back seat reclines or leans back too far, it could affect the space for the drawers. I doubt it's really any different than the 5th gens though.



For them to fit, it really can't be any bigger than these dimensions.

Outside measurements are:

36" deep (front to back)

40" wide (side to side)

10" high

No, the website you're seeing is the aussie one and they don't sell on that site, so no prices shown. They just sell through their dealer network. Our drawers right now are on Amazon here in the states. Until I can determine what vehicles the drawers will fit, we aren't pushing them super strong just yet.

The build is almost the same, except ours is a dual unit, interconnected as opposed to 2 modules bolted together. ARB has more plastic trim, plastic handles, etc, as opposed to our aluminum components. Here's a rundown of the specs.

I took some quick measurements recently to start planning my drawer project. I came up with 41 1/4" W x 38 1/2" D. That is using a height of 10 1/2" (w/ carpet) to clear the top of the wheel arches. It looks like your drawers would work fine for the 4th gens.

Speaking of Aussies, I saw a cool video in which they used aluminum to construct a drawer system. Has anyone looked into using extruded aluminum like 80/20 to build drawers, or even a frame and add plywood drawers?

That's great, thanks for the information. It seems that the 4th and 5th gen do have the same size cargo area, which is what we were thinking.

I'm actually gonna do the aluminum build with the plywood but my only concern is setting something to heavy on top and bending or crushing?... what do you think?? Also I found the adapters to connect them and such if you want the link

I don't think the weight will be a problem. I have alu extrusion cross bars on my roof rack and put a lot of weight on them, including me when loading them up. I'm thinking of a alu frame with plywood top and likely ply drawers.

That's what I was gonna do! It'll be significantly lighter I would assume and prob easier to handle if you can't weld like me but you can always use all wood but I'd rather use aluminum

I just built a set myself and can share what I've come up with you you'd like. I did a low profile setup to conserve cargo height.

Total height was 7" with a drawer height of 5 1/2". I designed the side pieces to be easily removable for access to the jack hatch and the rear power outlet.

I'm still deciding if I'm going to cover it with carpet or use the roll of black leather I have kicking around...

looks great! any photos of the framework, without the drawers or tops? and is that ½" or ¾" plywood? how much does it weigh?

Thanks! I do car electronics for a living for the last 20+ years so I've done lots of custom builds for audio systems.

It's 1/2" for the top and bottom, 3/4 for the verticals left right and the center is a piece of 1/2 and 3/4 together to make the spacing correct. I used 24" soft close drawer glides from Home Depot. I'd say it's about 50/60lbs.

I'll be happy to share my measurements. I was planning on doing a quick write up once I have some time.

nice, thanks for the extra photos. i like how basic it is. i want to do something just like that in my 4th gen, but come up with some sort of extra fold out platform for sleeping on. i'm 6'5 so it will take some ingenuity...
