Drivers Door Lock stuck

I replaced the motor in my lock actuator today, and it's working great. I appreciate the information in this thread. I ordered a 4-pack of motors from Amazon and used the videos from two previous posts in this thread. The process was relatively simple. I have a 2010 LE, and the actuators are identical to the ones in the video for the 2008 Tundra. Be careful when removing the two halves of the actuator. When I opened it up, a linkage came loose, and I didn't realize there was a spring underneath it that needed to be wound back up. Initially, I was not able to open the door from the outside, but I eventually figured out my error. Lesson learned is to take your time while opening things up and putting them back together.

Can't thank you guys enough for the help. I brought my 2014 Trail edition to the dealer for oil change and inquired about fixing the driver side door lock that had not worked for about the past year. They told me that the part, I believe they were referring to the actuator, was about $350 and labor would cost more than that. I follow the instructions on the two videos and purchased the motors from the Amazon link. The actuators appeared different from the ones in the video but the motor assembly was spot on. I've attached a picture of the old black motor pictured next to one of the white replacement motors. You guys definitely saved me a ton of money and I am grateful. This forum continues to be a wealth of knowledge. I'm a psychotherapist not a mechanic and I was able to pull this one off. I did forget to attach the bar leading from the external door handle to the unlocking mechanism and locked myself out of the car for a good 45 minutes. My loving and supportive wife found this hilarious.

My drivers side on my 2015 is acting up as of yesterday. I just ordered the set of 4 motors on Amazon, but I can't seem to bring the how-to videos up. Am I missing something?

My dealership seems to think Toyota will cover it since I'm less than 1000 miles over the warranty and the truck has been in service barely over 2 years. But if not I am ready to do it myself. Thanks for the videos.

To their credit both Toyota and Earl Stewart Toyota stepped up and replaced the actuator under warranty even though I had 36,900 miles. But I do have 4 motors on call- I'm sure they will be needed at some point.

Hi there,

Can you tell me if the actuator motor you replaced has a 10mm shaft.
I see some on eBay with same part number but longer 20mm
