Drivers side door wont open

I took the the panel off the other day to inspect and couldnt really see much. It looked like there was a small plastic clip that was supposed to be holding two rods together.
So, i've been trying to research the problem, but in the mean time I've been having to roll the window down everytime I get out of the car to open the door.

Now today it won't open from the inside or outside. Electric door lock still works fine.
Where can I find the parts for this? How can I get the door open? What are the parts called if I wanted to replace all of the door opening mechanism?

So this....

<a href="http://s82.photobucket.com/user/fblainen11/media/IMG_20151214_160805.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j256/fblainen11/IMG_20151214_160805.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo IMG_20151214_160805.jpg"/></a>

Is supposed to look like this:
<a href="http://s82.photobucket.com/user/fblainen11/media/IMG_20151214_160738.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j256/fblainen11/IMG_20151214_160738.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo IMG_20151214_160738.jpg"/></a>

So I made this to help:
<a href="http://s82.photobucket.com/user/fblainen11/media/IMG_20151214_161501.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j256/fblainen11/IMG_20151214_161501.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo IMG_20151214_161501.jpg"/></a>

Also put a zip tie around the outside handles connection after putting it back in place. Fixed it up real nice.
I used a self tapping screw and pinched it tight around a screw drive to make sure I had plenty of clearance for the rod that connects to the inside latch.
Put a spare rig and zip tie in the glove compartment in case another one breaks.
