Driver's side sagging

I need to try this, everytime I look at my truck directly from the front or rear the sag drives me nuts. I actually park it on a little hill at home so that you cant tell its like that. I guess I should not be so lazy and just put in the rear spacer. I need to hurry up before I rip into the lift install on my womans wrangler, which is in desperate need of new shocks and springs @ 95k .I must be having a positive effect on her, she says its time to lift it and I won't argue with that, I'll even install it for her as long as she stays away from my 4runner !

I still have the second spacer from the set I bought, if you're interested. :)

Here's the front spacer kit I'm talking about:
Front Top Plate Spacer Kit - Toytec Lifts: Toyota Lift Kits: FJ Cruiser Lift Kits, Tacoma Lift Kits, Tundra Lift Kits, 4 Runner Lift Kits, Sequoia Lift Kits, Toyota Truck Lift Kits
Here's the rear:
Daystar Part KT09127BK - ComfortRide Suspension Coil Spring Spacer Kit

Hey ASR, I have been reading over this thread and a few others and I am curious about adding a top plate spacer to my rig, front and rear, to get additional clearance/height - is there anything that you would caution about doing that? I have 3'' coilover in the front and 2'' taller springs in the rear with the stock shocks for now...would this be ill-advised for any reason?

Below is a link for what I found for the front. For the rear, is the DayStar 1.5'' kit the only option there? Seems like if i did the front and rear with with these two options I might regain the rake I got out with the lift.

Thank you in advance for your advice! :yo:

I have a driver side lean like OP states, I'm trying to level the lean with what I have already. Just a note for you, I have a ome 3" lift and tried to take a lean out with a spacer in front. Not advisable above 3" lift, cv joints binding while turning the tire at full drop when spacer installed. I go wheeling and full drop happens at times, so spacer in front was not an option.

I would start out by doing just the rear. Adding spacers on top of the front you can run into various issues, such as what having fun mentioned. The Daystar is the most popular option, but for me it was too much. I ordered a custom spacer from Cornfed, I went with 3/4". It's within 1/4" now depending on how much gas I have. Cornfed was great to deal with, they answered e-mails very promptly and shipped within a day. The single 3/4" spacer was $40 shipped, more expensive than the Daystar but worked better for me.

Yeah, I see what you guys mean, I dont want to stress the CVs joints that bad - I am ordering the Light Racing UCAs soon, I dont know if those will help allow the top plate spacer up front though? I am doing those for the alignment correction/adjustment they allow, although mine is within factory spec as close as it can be with the coilovers, I've read enough people saying its a major improvement over the OEM UCAs.

Other than doing the top plate spacers, the only other option would be a body lift? What would you fellas say to that? I think a few people on here are running the Toytec 1'' BL or the like. Again, I am just looking for a bit more height/clearance and seasoned advice from you guys :thumb3: like most people I really don't want to do anything that will cost me more in the end...

thanks again!

Me having the 3" ome, I also did the LR UCA'Sfor alignment correction. They won't help with putting the top spacer in. Read my post above ARK.

Thanks guys!

This write up was super helpful, thanks for posting. Adding the Daystar spacer really completes the lift and bring up the drivers side to the correct height, giving a full 2" lift look all the way around. Before and after on my '03 V8 w/ 5100s + Moog coils on all 4 corners.

Before: (space between tires and fender / total fender height):
-- 4.75 Driver Rear / 35.25
-- 6 Passenger Rear / 36.5
-- 4.5 Driver Front / 35
-- 5 Passenger Front / 35.5

After:
-- 6.25 Driver Rear / 37
-- 6.75 Passenger Rear / 37.5
-- 5 Driver Front / 35.5
-- 5 Driver Front / 35.5

daystar works to correct lean!

I just installed the Daystar spacer on the Rear Driver-Side spring. It corrected the lean - my height measurements are same on both sides now!

My setup is 2007 V6. I installed the Toytec 3" lift. I ended up with about 1/2 inch lower on the rear driver side.

I have the extra Daystar spacer for sale if anyone wants to buy it. $20, plus shipping (unless you want to pickup in SF, CA).
I bought the set for $40 from Amazon.

Out of Ideas for Alternating Sag

I bought a 2004 SR5 Sport 4WD V8 this past February (2022) and the rear has never been level. I thought maybe it was the XREAS suspension. I was told it had a leak when I bought it, but the ride seemed fine.

Fast forward 3 months and I deleted the XREAS system in favor of the Bilstein 5100 set. Installation was straight forward and I did the 1-ish inch lift in front.

The front is perfectly level. In the rear, the driver's side is still roughly 0.7" lower than the passenger side and I suspected the weight of the gas tank, battery, etc. mentioned here. So, I ordered a 30mm rear coil spacer. Problem "solved", right? Nope... the spacer has not arrived yet and now the rear passenger side is 0.7" lower than the driver's side!

Gas tank roughly 3/4 full at the time of both measurements. What could be causing it to lean to either side like this? Sway bar/stabilizer issue? Bushings? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

How are you measuring it, from the ground to wheel well, or from center of hub to wheel well?
