Driver's window groan

So my driver's side window makes a awful groan when rolling down (2000 Limited 4WD). Power windows. This only happens going down, up is perfectly fine. No metal grinding or power loss, just a weird groan. I've only had it for a week, everything is in awesome shape, all stock or oem from what I can tell. Any thoughts?

YES! Exact same issue here on my 2000 SR5. Hard groan when rolling down (no speed or power loss) and normal when coming up (no noise or speed/power loss)

Motor bearings?

Any ideas or help would be great

Im going to remove the door panel today and see if I can diagnose the issue 'hylon87' and Ill let you know if I come up with any answers...

I have an ear piercing screech when lowering the driver side window. I pulled the door panel off and greased all the tracks, but it didn't seem to make a difference. I thought it might be the glass dragging on some sheet metal since there is a deep scratch on the window glass, but that doesn't appear to be it either.

Driver Window Groan

Has anyone figured out what this is?

I have this issue too on the driver side only. Noise going down but not up. Just got my 4Runner (2002 SR5) recently. I was hoping to get an idea of the scope of the problem before taking the door panel off. It's cold and rainy and I don't have a garage.

Hmm. I guess we'll have to solve this one ourselves. It's going to be a while before I can start the project but I'll try to post back if I figure anything out.
