Driveshaft Doh!!!

So my chick tells me when she gets home that something is wrong with the rig..

"it has a shake in the steering wheel, little worse when going freeway speeds, it squeaks periodically loud and low, it pulls sometimes, you can feel the tires wobble slow and fast and makes a clicking ratcheting sound like the locker but it's not the locker."

First two things I tell her that come to my mind from her description is something stuck in break caliper or caliper pistons stuck themselves and driveshaft.

Then rambled off other possibilities
Rack and pinion
Wheel bearings
Tie rods
Rear axle
Etc.

So I take it for a spin really quick before even looking...well don't feel or hear and of the extreme things she was telling me...just a very very slight wobble but a couple out of the ordinary my rear locker Bangs! Did a couple when it normally wouldn't have when doing a couple of turns. Mmmm..

So I roll on under and start lookin around ...not even a minute and I locate the culprit ...she like really?
So of course she wants to see..something she doesn't even know what she is looking at but hey ok.

Also too bad I just cut up and threw away my gas skid. Mine looked better than that one!

No Reply? The U joints are replaceable. If the driveshaft is bent or out of balance that is different but you posted this but can't bother updating your own post WTF? :scared:

Right? I know he was just out picking one up the other night because he told me he was gonna be in my neck of the woods. I wanna know how he bent it and destroyed his gas skid.

Yeah I know the u joints are replaceable but that does me no good if the driveshaft is bent ...also on the 4th gens there's a rubber insert they put in them and it wears out over time creating a driveline thunk which mine had started to do so I went and picked up a new driveshaft and installed it ...what a world of difference even my chick noticed a difference. Lol
