drivetrain lift, transmission lift??

I just want to start off and say thank you for everyone who has helped me in the past and for the wealth of knowledge I've gained from all of you guys. my question is, what is the proper terminology for a drivetrain lift or transmission lift? I've searched for these terms already here and google and have come up with mixed results. can anyone point me in the right direction as to what its commonly called so I can narrow my search. if anyone has a link to a kit or a build thread that would be bad ass too. Thanks all!

Toyota Drivetrain Lift
This should answer some questions.
I took the factory 'transmission mount' out and added a flat piece of steel to give me a drivetrain lift.

I lifted my drv train 2" and have a BB x-member /skid plate.
That makes about 6" or so more underbelly clearance.

I did a 2" drive train lift to my 86 4runner a couple of years ago. It's really pretty strait forward. Here are some pics I could find of mine.

First a 2" body lift & 2" motor mount spacers purchased from 4crawler.

And Bud Built plate cross member / transmission skid plate built for a 2" drive train lift



Then you have to modify the horse shoe cross member for drive shaft clearance.



My fix





modified the gas tank mounts to raise the tank 2"

modified rear mount (Man seeing that reminds me of how much my welding has improved lol)

After with tank back in



Finally I had to correct my pinion angle with tapered shims. Later I ended up cutting off the leaf spring perch's and re welding them at the correct angle but no pics of that.



Here is a shot of the transfer case clearance after the DT lift



Hope this helps. I highly recommend it, I saved a ton of clearance at the gas tank and transfer case.
