so i have a set of Hella black magic driving lights. and I just took them apart to replace the bulb with Piaa ion crystal H3 bulbs
i pulled one apart and swapped in a Piaa bulb and connected it jsut as i found it and it took a pic fo the difference. then i disconnected the other and put in a piaa bulb and reinstalled it
then i flipped the switch to test and the fuse blew...
i was very confused as to why it happend...
but any how i went and checked to see if some how i shorted the bulbs
what i realized was that hella had the wires backwards the pigtail from the h3 was connected to ground, and the base was connected to power. and i know i didnt switch them becasue the clips dont clip the wrong way.
is this normal for hellas ro do i somehow have a wrong set. im almost positive that the positive wire is supposed to connect to the pig tail and the ground is supposed to connect to the base.
maybe someone else who has hella black magics can chime in... also please not that on hella kits the black wire is positive... which i think is pretty dumb becasue black is universal for ground. but the blue wire is ground for hellas
