DRL's always on

I know many of you are asking about how to turn off your DRL's but my question is the complete opposite. Does anyone know how to make it so my DRL's stay on when headlights and fog lights come on. My runner is black and i like the offsetting look of the yellow DRL's. I would like them to stay on when my headlights come on just as an accent look so I would have Heads, Fogs, and DRL's on all at the same time. If anyone has any info that could help that would be fantastic. Thanks

i have 08 4runner and to answer your question to have them turned off the dealer can go into the computer and deactivate them had mine done due to that fact lights are bad in my line of work while the truck it on

reverse that and im sure they can turn the setting on in the computer

I kinda doubt they can or would force them to be always-on.

There's state laws against too many lit up bulbs on the front of the car.

Yes, I know I can be illegal with high beams (4 bulbs) and the fogs all on at once, which a great mod allows.

i dont think there is anything on how many marker lights you can have

When you are saying this mod you are referring to the always on mod like in my Avatar pic correct?

yes, i dont know if it would be the same for 06+ but yes

I am pretty sure the wiring is the same but because I haven't messed with an 06+ I don't want to say yes. I first did the DRL off with switch mod found here:

http://2004-4runner-drl-disable-off-capability

After doing this I then ran a ground wire, and wired as follows: from DRL relay to bottom post, out from relay to middle post, and ground to top post, installed a 3way switch so I can now have DRL = always on / OFF = always off / AUTO = factory function. Here is a pic of the switch I used:

Let me know if you have anymore questions.

so all i need to do is pull the wire out of the harness plug and ground it?

I got this relay for my switchback DRLs, the turn on and off automatically, there's an extra wire if you want them to turn off when you have your headlights on, but if you want them always on just ignore that cable.
I did this mod on a 3rd gen but the relay is universal, so I suppose that it will work for your car too.

If you get the relay you might or might not need to cut an adapter that comes at the end of the cable that goes to the DRLs. I had to cut it so I just wired them together like a normal wire.

The ones at the bottom are the ones I'm using as DRLs and the corners are just regular parking lights, but you could do the same for your parking lights if you wanted.

Basically yes, I followed the instructions for the DRL off w/ switch mod then just ran a ground wire to the switch. Grounding it will override the DRL relay making it think the headlights are not on thus keeping the DRL's on all the time.

If I cut the wire do I ground the plug side or the harness side

How did you do the switchback DRL? is it like one of those on German car? (white DRL that turn amber when turn signal is activated)

As far as I know, they don't have switchback LED for 1156, unless you convert your DRL/turn signal to 1157.

Where did you get your 3 way switch? Do you have a part number? I'm not having any luck finding one. I like the flexibility you have with the 3 way switch.
