Decided to try something different and do the high clearance cut on an early 5th gen. Went aggressive with it. I was planning on a front steel bumper later this year once we’re done moving anyways, and the OEM bumper wasn’t in great shape (I’d also sell it as is when the time comes, so saving the front bumper isn’t something I’m interested in doing). So much more room!

Step one complete. Was originally torn on the triple hoop look but seeing it in person has made it a lock. Now it's time for paint and lights and some new coilovers with heavier springs. A few coats of Rustoleum should do the trick and make for easy touch-ups down the line.

Step two complete - paint (rustoleum) and lights (cheapos from Amazon). I don't pretend my 4R is a rock-crawler but I'm not afraid to take her down some tougher trails and I've been known to follow a landcruiser or two when off the beaten path. Rustoleum allows for cheap fixes without the up-front cost of PC and the lights can be easily replaced without splurging.

Still need to add some trimmed pieces from my old bumper and eventually get a winch.

holy F, forgot about this place.

Life's been wild lately. Almost traded in the 4runner for a 200 Series (but decided to be frugal and didn't) and then almost for a 2022+ Expedition (but decided not having a car payment was more important) - so, for now, she stays with a laundry list of shit to do. I'm up to 155k miles with only having completed regular maintenance and replacing the driveshaft last year.

Icon shocks are gone as they've all either worn out or blown, and I now have 5100s in at least temporarily. I still have the Icons in case I find time to have them rebuilt.

Need to refresh other parts of the suspension - replace heim joints on the rear uppers and lowers (or get new uppers and lowers)

If you see the IG link below, you'll see my time has been spent shooting race cars instead of offroad rigs.
UBJs are needed.
Need to look at my KDSS bushings, tie rods and CVs. These are still OEM.
Snorkel body and passenger side mirror have burn marks from the sun reflecting off of my neighbor's windows. Luckily these can be sourced easy on flea-bay.
Need a new windshield and a latch for my CBI rear bumper.

Goal is to get to 200k+ miles and stack cash. I havent wheeled in 4 years and would like to do some mild/moderate stuff locally so it's time to get to work.

sorry for ghosting - the grille and lightbar are from rigid industries. toyota script and eagle eye ambers are from ebay.
