Hello,
Any of you fellow T4R owners have the Knock Sensor replaced? My '06 SR5 V6 with 122K miles will need to have one replaced. It is located under the Intake. Cost: $1300. Should I repair it or send it to the Bone Yard in the sky, or the shredder?
It seems the rig has become a money pit, throwing good money at bad. Well taken care of rig. Recently replaced CV Axles. I wanted to trade her in when I purchased a 2012 Acura TL SH-AWD, but the wife insisted I give the T4R to her. She doesn't pay for any maintenance, and taking care of 2 vehicles is expensive. It only works if both vehicles are low maintenance.
Sadly, the T4R has become a High Maintenance vehicle. Not as reliable as thought to be. If you mount sensors under the intake, they better be 100% reliable. 200K miles is a reasonable expectation before any major repair, provided proper maintenance is performed.
Hopefully, the members here won't have such bad luck with your rigs.
