Dual Caliper Idea

Questions:

Is anybody interested in a group buy for these dual caliper brackets, to install you would need to have the backing plate pressed off the axle shafts to install a set of longer studs that I would supply. Also you would need to cut the factory dust/rock shield around the caliper.

Wilwood mechanical calipers ($200)
Extended studs ($20)
Have a shop press out the backing plates ($40)
Modified parking brake cables or new Wilwood cables ($0 or $100?)
My CNC'd brackets ($?)


So maybe $450 to rip out the OE parking brake system for good?

Just found these Wilwoods. But they only work for smaller rotors as far as I can tell.

I dont have a 4 runner, but I have 2013 Tacoma and i am in the works of converting the rear drum to the 4 runner caliper setup. I was wondering if you ever got around to getting the bracket made for a second caliper and what wilwood calipers were you using.

Part # 120-12069-BK. MC4 Mechanical caliper. There are a couple different part numbers they sell, I think the difference being rotor width.

Haven't made a bracket yet. I think it will need a large step in it so a welded bracket might be the cheapest vs billet. This is the latest drawing I had on my PC.

Seeing that you have modeling software I'm assuming you have machining capabilities as well? If not I work at a machine shop and could get that bracket made up very easily. Plenty of "government" work going on in the shop, especially right now lmao.
 
Actually, this is the latest drawing on my PC. I think I decided not to machine it from a 1.5" thick piece of steel and instead do a weldment with standoffs. At least for prototyping, it'll be cheaper.

At my old job the engineers (me) could use the two bridgeports with digital readouts whenever they wanted, even for personal projects. My new job it would need to be CNC'd, and I doubt they would touch it. But my brother and I have had stuff made at another fab shop before.

What would be handy would be a 3d printer...
