Dueler A/T REVO

The lowdown on costco tires:

An Installation Charge of $10.00 per tire is included in the quoted price. This includes:

Mounting
Lifetime balancing
Lifetime rotation
Lifetime flat repair
Lifetime air pressure checks
New rubber valve stem
Costco Wholesale's road hazard warranty

TO QUALIFY FOR THIS WARRANTY:
1. You must be the original purchaser of the tires.
2. You must have purchased the tires from Costco Wholesale.
3. You must present the original purchase receipt and tire to a Costco Wholesale Tire
Center.
CONDITIONS OF THIS WARRANTY:
1. The Purchaser must rotate and balance their tires as outlined by the vehicle
manufacturer.
2. The Purchaser must operate their tires at inflation pressures outlined by the vehicle
manufacturer.
3. The Purchaser must keep all mechanical parts that effect tires in proper working
condition.
4. The Purchaser will be required to sign a “Costco Wholesale Tire Adjustment Form”.
WHAT IS COVERED:
1. “Road Hazard Failure” is defined as a tire that becomes unserviceable due to cuts,
non-repairable punctures or impact damage. Costco Wholesale will repair tires
with tread-face injuries in accordance with established RMA (Rubber Manufacturers
Association) standards.
2. This warranty covers road hazard failures in Passenger, Performance and Light Truck
tires purchased from Costco Wholesale.
3. This warranty is valid for sixty (60) months from the date of purchase or when the tire
reaches 2/32 of an inch or less in remaining tread depth regardless of age. When
a tire has 2/32 of an inch or less in tread depth, it is considered worn out.
4. This warranty provides credit based upon remaining usable tread at the time of failure
due to road hazard.
5. “Usable Tread” is defined as the original tread depth of a tire less 2/32 of an inch
(tread wear indicators).
6. Credit is determined by multiplying the useable remaining tread by the current price
of the tire.
7. This Warranty is a promise under certain conditions to give credit on a pro-rated basis
towards the purchase of a new tire. This warranty does not imply that tires sold by
Costco Wholesale meet certain specifications or cannot fail. This Warranty does not
replace or modify any original tire manufacturers warranty on material and
workmanship.
WHAT IS NOT COVERED:
1. A tire that is damaged / failed due to vandalism.
2. A tire that is damaged / failed due to an accident.
3. A tire that is damaged / failed due to commercial use.
4. A tire that is damaged / failed due to racing.
5. A tire that is damaged / failed due to Off-Road use.
6. A tire that is damaged / failed due to snow chains or studs.
7. A tire that is damaged / failed due to rapid or irregular wear.
 
Costco

I am a big Costco fan.....in fact I frequently say "Of Course, Costco Rocks!". We buy so much stuff from them.

All those details sound great to me except the very last line:

"7. A tire that is damaged / failed due to rapid or irregular wear."

That is the biggest problem I've had with tires and would have liked that to have been covered. Guess you would have to drive by some construction sites filled with nails to get your tires replaced if they wear unevenly.
 
I too am lucky enough to live next to a Costco (It even sells gas! I pay around $1.75 a gallon right now). I got my revos 265/70-17 thru them installed for $600 with a $50 mail in rebate. That free liftime balancing/rotation thing applies to ALL their tires.

Hank---There is NO rubbing with the size that I indicated. I still have plenty of room between the tire and wheel-well.

I have had no issues with Costco when it comes to balancing my tires.

All the guys there (at mine at least) are very cool, and I often talk to them while they are working on my truck (I even sold my old bandpass box w/ speakers and amp to the one guy while I was getting the tires installed!)

How will they be able to tell if the puncture came from "off-roading". As far as I am concerned, I was driving on smooth blacktop!;): :D

By the way-these tires make the 4runner feel like a sports car. I can not say enough as to how sure footed they feel even in heavy rain. I hit part of a flooded road with them (water ended up being about 10"s deep) and I couldnt even tell if they hydroplaned. With the OEM tires, I am SURE that the truck would have done an impression of a marble (around and around she goes-where she stops nobody knows).

That is what the had in the computer as being the stock size! They said they couldnt even order the 265/65-17 someone had mentioned earlier in this thread!

Oh...I also had them install all the wheel weights on the inside of the rims to keep a nice clean look.

Are you sure you don't have 265/70-16's?

You have a SR5. Unless you bought the upgraded rims when you purchased your 4runner or swaped out the rims you would have 265/70-16s.
 
Stock Size

Stock tire size on my 03 Sport was 265/65/17. I went up to 265/70/17 (1" larger overall diameter) when I switched over to Revos.
 
i just got the costco coupon book and its $60 bucks off a set of 4 bridgestone or michelin tires. the guy at costco told me that they'll do plus size fitting if the manufacturer will confirm that it's ok to mount the plus size tire. not sure how that's going to work yet but we'll see if i ended up getting the revos.
 
I did what Kzanard did, and Costco had that as the size to put on (265/70-17)in their computer. Just a little FYI
 
Costco has them for the same price but you don't have to pay for shipping or mounting/balancing.

nevermind, i just looked on the website.. I dont see the dueler revos listed...

I might just buy a memebership , since costco is also in hawaii (my next duty station) that would work out for me!

Any problems from them? Costco that is?

Four Wheel Drive And All Wheel Drive Vehicles
It is always recommended to replace tires on Four Wheel Drive and All Wheel Drive vehicles in complete sets. When purchasing less than four tires, the tire size and tread design must be identical, and the overall circumference between the old tires and the new tires must have a difference of less than 1 1/2 inches. If less than a complete set of tires is purchased, the new tires will be installed on the rear of the vehicle.
 
the duelers on costco's website are not for the revo's, just the regular duelers. they can order the revo's for you though, itll take them a few days to get it. a costco membership is definitly worth it, especially if you go frequently. $1.50 for a hot dog + drink?! you can't beat that.
 
If you follow my previous link, the first tire is Dueler A/T which are the Revos. They have Dueler H/T which are the stock tires.

These are the regular dueler a/t (found on costco's website). the pattern on the side of these tires actually look chunkier and aggressive than the actual revo's.

these are the duelers that costco carries that are also found on tirerack called the dueler a/t d693 with uni-t.

these are the dueler revos that people talk about (also found on tireracks website). tire rack carries three versions of the duelers.

My bad. I should've looked closer.

Costco will special order tires for you though. I haven't done it but I've heard others that have. If I do, I'll post my experiences (with better detail :D).
 
The non-Revo Dueller A/T only comes in 265/70 sizing.

I want to stick to 265/65, I don't want to buy 5 tires.
