Dull Faded Cladding Solutions?

Does any body have a solution to the body cladding fading and getting dull in relation to the body paint? Some of my cladding panels, not all, are getting dull and faded with no shine anymore.

My Silver 06 has the same thing going on, bought it in SD. wonder if we got a bad paint lot. I hear typically silver is the longest lasting color without fading.

Unfortunately, the sun and weather can wreck the paint on these plastic parts. If keeping it waxed doesn't help, you may want to look at pulling them off and spraying some clear coat to protect the remaining paint.

One side of my titanium silver 2003 had this problem, and eventually the plastic started showing through paint. I pulled the cladding off and did some rattle can tests, with both Dupli-Color and the SEM Factory Pack versions of this color. While they were a big improvement over no paint, and OK for my old savage Runner, neither one matched that well to 15 year old factory paint. Once that paint is gone, you have to look into a real paint job to get everything to match.

If it's just dull usually you can have it buffed new again. If the clear coat is gone it will require more serious work.
