Dumb question - ATF: Dex II or...?

My owners manual calls for Dex II ATF, but apparently that stuff is unobtanium. Is there another type compatible with a 2001 a340f?

Dex 3 is compatible with Dex2.

I use Valvoline Max Life Synthetic ATF.

It's ~$6/qt at NAPA but the NAPA brand is a little cheaper, and I was told Valvoline makes NAPA brand oils for them.

I use the Walmart Dex 3 and change it often.

Mine shifts better with this than with Maxlife.

Thanks y'all. I figured there was an easy solution if that transmission is so prevalent and Dex II is non-existent, haha.

I can't even find Dex 3 around here, it's all Dex 4 or other vehicle specific flavors. The bottle swears that Dex 4 can replace Dex 3, so that's what I've flushed my PS system with. So far, no issues.
