Dumb Question...Locking the Center Diff

So, here in Va Beach, I don't get the chance to play in the snow too often, so the last few days, I have been out playing and have a good ol' time. I sure I don't have to tell you guys, but even in 10+ inches of snow, I haven't needed 4LO at all. That said, today at lunch I found a parking lot that had plenty of snow left in it and tried out 4LO, just to make sure it worked. No problems. I figured while I was at it, I would test out the locking center diff. Nothing. In 4LO and 4HI. In P, N, and D. Nothing. The center diff light would not light on the dash (it DOES light when shifting in and out of 4WD). No "VSC Off" light.

Am I missing something in locking the diff? Am I using the wrong finger to hit the button? Is it time to take it to the dealer for a warranty repair? What the hell is going on??!!??
