dumb traffic cameras

In my fine state of corruption you have to wait a few seconds (i believe it's 3 or 4) before you can make a right hand turn, otherwise you will get a ticket.
I have dark plastic covers on my plates, put them on so the plates don't stand out, not to avoid the camera, well maybe a little. I'm guilty of of running a light here and there but have yet to get the red light camera ticket.

this intersection is a no turn on red one. on the notice there is 4 pictures. one of your face, one of the plates one of the intersection with you in it, and one without you in it. you can go online and watch a video too [i tried to DL it but they block it, jerks. i want it for my hall of fame]
if it wasnt you, you can fight it. you can barely see you in the picture so im sure i could get away with it. but its too much work so i just paid it.

i have been seeing more and more and more patrol cars out and since i know these infractions happen in threes i have stepped back on the speed and rolling through the stop signs in my area. i dont want to keep giving my money to the city.

this does ruin some plans for my road trip later this month, i guess ill have to watch my speed the whole time

But to contest the infraction and say it wasn't me, you have to be snitch. They want the name and license of the driver who was driving your vehicle at the time. I heard at one point violations caught by camera did not assign points because it's merely citing the owner of the vehicle. But I doubt that's true.

It sucks that Big Brother is everywhere.

I hate camera's to capture infractions, they make the roads less safe. DOn't believe me? Here, first off what Jeff said about stopping trucks is very true, i have seen many of trucks blow through a recently turned red light because there is no time to stop, and my father has too whenever he is hauling something. 2nd People become nervous and concentrate more on avoiding the ticket, and it can often interfer with the safe driving, like just nailing the brakes so that they stop in time.

It is irrelevant to saftey, and if anything it causes more damage than it prevents. I have seen maybe 5 people run a red light like after it has been red for a couple seconds after about 45k miles of driving expeirence. I feel that there would be many more accidents with these camera's set up. And i am so glad NY and CT in atleast the parts i travel do not have these camera's, and i hope we never will.

There are two 4Runners in that picture if you look closely. I can't stand red light cameras. They can cause more accidents than it is worth. In addition, have you ever seen what happens when an emergency vehicle is trying to get through the intersection that is monitored by a red light camera? People don't move!!

I actually read some articles about town spending all this money putting these red light cameras and systems in, and paying to have them monitored and enforced and then everyone stops running red lights and there was a town that had to take them out and give them back cuz they couldnt maintain enough revenue from the few people that ran the red lights to justify paying for the systems

of course the intersection that Lefty pictured and the one at Arapahoe and Yosemite are frickin rigged for making money, I swear. if you go into either of those lights during green and it turns yellow AFTER you enter it, if there is a slow car in front of you, it could turn Red and you would have a pic of you with a red light and you in the middle of the intersection, people accelerate far to slowly when coming from a stop at a light, its annoying as can be to be the 3rd person in line for a turn and have to ride the car in front of yous @s$ to not get stuck in the middle of the intersection.

you know if your front wheels break the solid white line(stop bar) of the intersection you are considered through the light and into the intersection. So as long as your car is past that before the light changes to red, you should be safe.
