Duratrac price

I was quoted $1057 out the door at discount tire. That's mounting, balancing, and tire rotation for life. Is that a pretty decent price? Can you even talk tire places down in price? I see the same tires on tirerack.com for $211/tire= $844. Then I'd have shipping and still have to get them mounted balanced etc. just wondering what some of you have paid.

You might want to list what size and if these are P rated, LT C load or LT E load. It will be hard to compare if people don't know which size and rating Duratrac you are getting

Hey there, i run a shop up here in new england…priced them out through my wholesale dealer, including my mounting and fees i came up with $1013…not far off, i also have some of the cheapest prices around locally so i would say you're not doing too bad, whats $35 ontop of $1000 lol good luck, btw just my opinion i would not buy them lol for that price there are a handful of tires i would recommend before duratracs. everyone likes them for the look they attain but i have never seen a set that wears properly, soft rubber and always end up cupped no matter if alignment is within spec or not

Looks like in that size it's the new P rated version that just recently came out. Probably not too many people running it yet. Try calling up Discount Tire Direct and see what their pricing on it is. Usually if it ends up being lower you can get the local Discount Tire to match it. Call around to various shops and get quotes. you can usually bargain down some if you have those in hand. Not sure if Tirerack charges tax in Florida, but that and their high shipping price usually make them not so great a deal.

Make sure you get the $60 rebate on those tires too.

if i were you i would try to move up to a 275-65-18 and pickup some bgf all terrains or even the wrangler at adventures….much better wear with these just not quite as big of a lug….but if you really like the duratracs they are cheaper in the 275 size anyways…990 including tax and fees

What do you think about the Michelin LTX A/T? I love the LTX MS2s for highway use but looking for something with a little better ofroad performance.

Are you suggesting 276/65 for looks? Just wondering, I wasn't trying to go with a real beefy tire just rugged looking. Also trying to salvage as much gas mileage as possible. Or would there not be that much of a difference? Also what kind of rubbing should I expect from 275's? I didn't want to do too much trimming. Thanks for your input

Forgot to mention 99.9% of my driving will be on road. I don't off road, just want the look. Only off road I'll be doing would be the beach

Honestly I'm not sure about the rubbing with the 275…i am running a 3 inch lift on 265/70/17 and i still rub a bit with wheel spacers….all depends on your specific setup but the only reason i recommended them is because there are more options as far as brands and models of tire, as well as generally a bit cheaper being more common lately….I have not had any poor experience with the Michelin tires you mentioned but obviously not the same style tread….personally one brand i have had great luck with is Jetzon, i have a set of 265-70-17 jetzon tempra trailcutter at2 and have been happy with the traction, looks, and wear. michelins will get your gas milage, i really like those goodyear adventure at's also

If you are going to be primarily on the beach get something less aggressive. Especially if 99.9% of the time your on the street.

I have been using the Nitto Terra Grappler with good luck on the sugar sand on the gulf coast. I used a MT prior and it dug more than floated on the sand down here.
