Duratrac's + snow = win

Just an endorsement for the Goodyear Duratrac's in snow & ice....

Black Friday night I had the pleasure of driving through a ground blizzard from Vail to a little beyond Idaho Springs (CO). At 45-50mph tops, I was the fastest thing on the road and passed everything safely with no loss of grip accelerating, braking, or cornering. Lots of cars crawling, spinning, crabbing up the passes, sliding off...

This morning in the slippery snowstorm that blew in overnight, I had to go downtown (Denver) and again, loads of grip in every situation where others around me were driving in paranoia and fear.

Duratrac's = Win. Probably the best tires I've ever had for snow/ice.

Totally agree! I drove in the same snow this morning in and around Highlands Ranch with my Duratracs. Awesome tire.

Just getting into my 3rd winter on my set and with about 18k miles on them with no issues whatsoever and they have been very good to me in the snow and ice.

Perhaps I read too much into Duratracs + Snow= Win because my first snow experience was a LOSS. Not that it was the tires fault, but I did end up getting stuck in about two feet of packed snow on a forest road. I was trying to back up to turn around, and next thing you know I broke through the packed snow into the loose stuff and was spinning all four tires. I tried digging, I tried putting objects under ties, but I was by then high centered...4 hours later I had a snow cat tow vehicle have to winch me out...not cheap! I was hoping these Duratracs would have been the answer, perhaps I threw too much at em'.
