- Suspension update - Bilstein 5100 on all 4 corners with stock springs.
Front set to 0.85". Back set to 0"
- (4) 5th Gen SR5 rims (left over from Dusty)
- (1) new TPMS, possibly another...
- (2) new tires: 265/65/17 Toyo open Country H/T
...my wife is still learning about the importance of tire rotations.

Purchased 8/18/11 for $25,700 with 31,792 miles
Loved it for 10 years, 12 weeks and 4 days or 3,738 days
Sold 12/2/21 for $16,500 with 151,226 miles

Our 2008 4Runner has been the perfect vehicle. It was fun to drive, safe, reliable, and more capable than I'd ever need. In our 10 years of ownership, we've only done manufacturer's recommended maintenance and elective modifications. They are built like tanks and I'm confident this particular vehicle will serve the new owners (Bill & Deb) for another 300,000 miles or more.

We drove "Dusty" to the hospital for the birth of both our children and transported them safely on countless family adventures for the first 6-8 years of their lives.

He has moved hundreds of items on the roof, in the cabin, and by trailer. He has seen much of the Midwest through our personal travels and performed admirably as a work truck in support of personal and volunteer projects.

He has seen two head units, two custom sets of cargo drawers, two different lifts, four rearview cameras, three sets of wheels, more tires, and at least a dozen other modifications thanks mostly to the tribal knowledge shared in this community!:yo:

I had hoped and expected to pass this vehicle to my son when he starts driving in 2029. Unfortunately, life had other plans and we needed to make a change sooner than expected. The new whip, Grace, is a 2013 Lexus GX460 Premium in Knight's Armor Pearl. Basically the same vehicle with a 3rd row and V8 - I finally get what all the V8 guys were talking about but I'm not about to rub it in as the V6 is still a joy to drive and (almost) as capable.

In fact, my wife still has her 2007 SR5 V6 4x4, so I'm not really loosing my connection to 4Runners. In fact, we actually have a spa day planned for Carl and Grace later this week...

Hey there Jeff, wanted to chime in since I saw that Dusty had been sold. Really enjoyed reading your build when I got started, since you also had an old man tan 4runner. First thing I ever did was plastidip the badges after seeing how good yours came out and the contrast of the black and tan. I guess it snowballed from there haha, but wanted to say thanks

Wow, thank you very much for the kind words and advice regarding image posting. I'm looking into Imgur now - apparently I already had an account.

Now I have to the do-si-do of "forgot password" send recovery... to which email... What was the password for that email account?... etc. But, pictures are forthcoming...

I picked up Grace 4 weeks ago today. Since then, we've traveled 2,099 miles across 5 states (MO, IL, AR, LA, TX).

Over the course of the month, I've:
- Replaced the reverse bulbs with LEDs
- Replaced the interior bulbs with Diode Dynamics LEDs
- Tint all windows at 35% EagleOne Black, including windshield sunstrip @20%
- (5) KMC Trail wheels, size 17x9, -12
- (4) Toyo Open Country ATIIIs (I had a spare left over from Dusty)
- Front grill tri-color badge - silly cosmetic thing, but I like it
- Retro Toyota license plate frame (rear) - also silly cosmetic mod, but I like it

Next Stop: Lexus/Toyota Dealership for:
- 90,000 mile maintenance
- climate fan review - it's loud...
- heated steering wheel review - not working

Then UHAUL for
- weight distribution hitch
- anti-sway bars
- electronic trailer brakes

By then, we'll have enjoyed Christmas. Fingers are crossed Santa brings fresh WeatherTechs.

It's nice to have a new project.
