DVD Based Navigation question

Hello
After debating if I should go with the Navigation, I went ahead and went with it. Anyways I've been trying to find out if I can actually play dvd movies on this system. Anyone know? I don't take delivery until sometime next month. (supposedly a white limited with a black interior is hard to get) I can't wait that long to figure it out myself. Im guessing if it can it probably won't play if the car is drive, although i'm sure there is some hack to get it to play while in drive?

I doubt that it would. In past Toyotas, the headunit does not contain MPEG decoding capabilities. The vehicles that could play DVDs on the nav display were ones that had the RSES (rear seat entertainment system).

You may be able to get an aftermarket solution to work with minimal modifications from Coastal Tech or VAIS Technology.
