Dynamat

Just bought the 36 sq. foot pack and was wondering where to install to get the most bang for the buck. I have an 03 sport with JBL system with Z3 installed through the digital interface. I was thinking a piece behind each speaker and then skinning over the door shell behind the trim and doing the hatch outer skin, so looking for recommendations and staying in the 36 size.

The first thing I would do is find out where you have the most rattles.

Doing the doors is always a good idea.

If you can't find any major problem areas, then putting it anywhere will be fine.

Next time look for a product called RAAMAT.

Yea, heard that was good too, but only spent $90 for the dynamat extreme, couldn't pass it up, don't really have any rattles, just looking to quiet down the road noise, 4runners seem pretty sound dampened as they are just wanted to add to that.

If you are trying to get rid of road noise then the floor might be your best bet. Getting to the floor can be tricky though.

Second Skin makes great products, but they are really expensive. If I remember correctly they are around the price of Dynamat. I would get Second Skin over Dynamat any day.

As for the best bang for the buck I would have to disagree. RAAMAT is a pretty good product that is a good bit cheaper than either of the other two.

It is cheaper. I haven't looked at SSA's prices for a while and it has gone up. But I would still pick that over Dynamat.

just dynamt the front doors, if u have good comps, itll b worth it, i layer on the outside foor panel, and one layer in the inner panel, will b half the box, for that kit u have, ull get to do both doors, i did this on my 07 sport also, i bought a mega bulk pack off ebay for 300, that included shipping too, and at 72sq ft, i covered all the doors and tailgate and also the floor of the trunk, and i have no vibrations from my 2 jl 12w3v2 with 500/1, also my comp push alot of mid bass with 150 watts to them from my jl 300/2 amp, i have them on all doors, so 2 300/2, a/d/s/ 346is with focal tn52 tweeter for the front, and a/d/s/ 336im in the back.

I'm not saying that Dynamat is bad or anything, but if you would have went with Raammat BXT you could have gotten close to 200 sq ft. Imagine how much of your 4runner you could have done then. WOW!
