E-Brake Needs Adjusting

One more tid bit. If you can’t seem to get them adjusted properly even after you have adjusted the cables under the center console the cables are probably stretched.

its easy to adjust at the star, snug it up to the rotor, then back off 4 clicks, play with the pedal and it should be it. make sure to do the adjustment on both side at the same time. if its still to loose, then check the shoes. i think there is a minimum thickness.

It was crazy hot and humid today and my patience was wearing thin. I just followed the instructions in the manual and got the parking brake OK. Tighten the adjuster till it locks the drum, then loosen 8 "clicks" or notches.

I don't have a good hill anywhere around to test it but the truck doesn't budge at idle forward or reverse. If you give it much gas it starts to creep. I got up to 20 in the neighborhood, bumped it into neutral, and crammed on the brake. Truck stops in about 2 car lengths. I figure that's OK. I'd rather have it a bit weak than be dragging. I'll check this week to see if the rotors get hotter than normal or I get any weird noises/smells but neither seem to be dragging at all.
