They're called Tacoma pre-runners, and they are everywhere. 2WD 4Runners with Diff Lock never hit the market. Someone somewhere has probably swapped one in though. A true unicorn.

Question: I am slowly acquiring parts for my locker swap do be done in the Spring. I have a 4.10 5-speed 4x4 2000 4runner. What do I need out of the diff harness, ECU, switch, and either the Low Range and/or Pirate harness or factory harnesses in order for it to work as if it was there from the factory?
Do those harnesses allow the switch/ECU to be plugged into the dash and have the "RR Diff Lock" light flash while it is trying to lock and then stay on when it is? Or do I need a separate wire or harness to do that?

Thanks man! For the Biopsy article, I was seeing if they ever came out with the Method #2 article...that would be the method I was referring to. I'll have to read through the other items as well.
