E3 plugs installed & MPG readout???

Almost 2 weeks ago I installed a set of the E3 spark plugs. On my T4R I had one bank of NGK

I would like to know how your experience compares with that of others.

The heat range of a spark plug is the plugs ability to get rid of heat. They typically do this by changing the length of the plug or the ceramic section. So a longer plug takes more time to dissipate heat and is called a Hot plug. A team of people have spent countless hours designing the combustion camber and related components. Having said that, I would not deviate from the heat range.

To best of my knowledge no one spark plug will ever give an engine more power or better fuel economy.

So I do not think it matter at all what manufacturer you use. What

:iagree: There are rare exceptions for highly modified engines but in general the stock heat range is the right answer. I didn't deviate from my stock heat range.

Iridium plugs like those used on the V8) cost an arm & a leg but they do allow one to change them at extreme extended time intervals. I am a little frightened about removing a plug that has been sitting for 100,000 miles. Seems like a recipe for disaster (for stripping threads) but I will find out soon!

I totally agree on the interval thing! On the vehicles in my care (immediate family) I always pull the plugs by 4 years or 50k miles just to put a drop of lube on the threads. The thought of stripping one out makes me cringe...



I am also around boats a good bit. Good ignitions and long-life plugs are a disaster!!!:soapbox: When plugs sucked and were cheap people would change them annually or bi-annually. I have seen several salt-water run I/O's with 5-6 year old plugs and big bills to remove them

I actually removed four of eight plugs, on my rig at 65,000 miles, and placed a drop of oil on them. Then the sky opened up and I stopped and never returned to finish the job. It will be interesting to see if bank 1 plugs come out easier than bank 2.
