Easiest way to access rear of head unit?

Nope, you have to remove the center console completely, then the silver trim around the HU & LCD display, then the LCD, then you can get to the 4 bolts that hold the HU in. No other way unless you want to take a hammer and bust the interior to pieces .
It's an aftermarket Kenwood HU, not sure if that makes a difference...

-remove center channel
-remove glove box
-reach in and plug your rcas
-you can use the power plug in the rear to turn amp on and off, no need for remote from radio
if you have a single din and its not iso mounted and is using the radio cage, you ca can slide it out real easy with the radio keys

Thanks, but it's double DIN and I think I have to remove the whole dash anyway, I can't see where to run the amp power cable from the battery through the firewall with the dash on.

What? I dont see where in the original post you asked anything about the power cable.

Slow your roll there, chief. I didn't ask about it because it wasn't an issue until about an hour ago when I tried to run a power cable.
I know how to search just fine. I didn't ask you or anyone else here about running the power cable, so don't lecture me about the search feature.

There is a grommet on the driver side where the vehicle harness runs through. I believe there is also another grommet. If I have time tonight I'll snap a pic for you. I have ran a few wires through these myself. No need to remove the dash to run a wire through the firewall. Now plugging in RCAs to the headunit is a different story, center console and half the dash needs to come out.

Nah it should use the same bolts as the factory one.
Also if you know where all the bolts are it literally takes 5 minutes to get the HU out. The don't give you much slack on the factory wires on the rear though, so either have small hands, cut hands, or big pliers to get the connections out.
