I wanted to run two full size spares if I went on a really extended trip. So i scored a set of sr5 wheels off of craigslist for $50, they have no clear coat left but for spares, who cares. Then I scored two 285/70/17 at3s on ebay for 256 shipped.

The plan is to run one on a tire carrier and one on the roof when on long trips.

So for a while, I've thought I have had an exhaust leak. The guy I bought it from said it had one. The shop that replaced the head gasket said there wasn't one. I still smell exhaust pretty regularly windows up or down and I don't ever roll the rear window down at this point...

So to check for a leak I created a vacuum on the system by taping my vacuum to the exhaust. I then got under the 4r with a hose and put one end to my ear and listened to all the seals and welds to hear any leaks.

could be the muffler welds?

It could’ve been I don’t think there is one I didn’t hear any leaks when I got under there with my makeshift stethoscope.

Was showing the process in case anyone else wanted to give it a try.

Found my old devil horn emblem from my first Tacoma. A trip to the hardware store and I got that sucker mounted up.

might not want to use the vacuum method, need to blow air to it.

ditched the magnetic mount, and went with a passenger side CBI mount. 4' firestick and the low profile firestick cable.

Mounted up the snorkel

to plumb the snorkel; I trimmed the rubber hose that came with it 1" I connected that to the snorkel and stretched it over a 3" pvc pipe. Short piece 3-4". Then into a 45* 3"ID to 3"OD angle.

Also had to chop the CBI bracket for my antenna for snorkel clearance. Very pleased with the end result.

RCI armor and sliders should be here next week!

Mounted ARB twin compressor. Yes it's at an angle but I just drilled holes and bolted it from the bottom. One day I will make a bracket and mount is flat.

I just ran the switch in the engine bay for now as I am waiting on my factory style switch to come in the mail.

Eventually it will be hooked up to lockers.

Got the Rola rack, low profile 4xinnovations mounts, 32in light bar all mounted this weekend.

Mounted my hi-lift, spare wheel, and knock off maxtraxs

Gunna get some locks etc, to keep everything from getting stolen.

Trip to the Ozark National Forest this weekend.

Only lost a rear fender and a factory roof rack end cap.
might have toasted an abs sensor but haven't diagnosed yet.
