Ebay Spoilers?

Anyone bought one of these? I am looking into getting a painted one, but wanted to make sure they weren't of poor quality.

Notice that all other links you posted have the 3rd brake lights Facing Down??
The one sold by autowingandspoilerking does not(I'm not an endorser though LOL!)

If your 4Runner is the 2003-2004...you have no problem going with Spoiler Depot.

If you have the 2005-2009...good luck finding it besides the Dealership.

Just received mine about an hour ago from the Autowing and Spoiler store on ebay. I picked there based on comments I read on this board.

UPS mangled the box enough that the driver suggested that I open it while he waited. There was no damage to the spoiler at all but I think they could use a heavier double wall box and wrap it a little better. But like I said, there was no damage at all.

The color matches perfectly. Paint looks good. The only thing I didn't realize was that the spoiler doesn't sit flush completely across the hatch. I had assumed that the factory 3rd brake light would be covered by the spoiler. I think it is a little odd to have both. I might have to figure out something to do with the third brake light on the hatch.

Don't worry about the factory 3rd brake light. A 5'5" tall person can't see it, how much more for a 6 footer. You have to be atleast 30 degrees looking up.

I posted this in the Aftermarket Spoiler Opinions thread but wanted to post this here as well so everyone is aware...

I wanted to share some vital information regarding spoilers for sale on ebay, specifically from the seller autowingandspoilerking.

About 6 months ago, I purchased a spoiler off of ebay from the seller autowingandspoilerking that looks exactly like the ones in the photos here. The spoiler I purchased is the kind with the LED light that sits flush in the back of the spoiler (not the kind that has the LED light on the bottom edge of the spoiler). Upon receiving my spoiler, I noticed the top of the LED light cutout in the spoiler dipped down a bit creating a gap between the edge of the cutout and LED light. This would allow water to enter into the LED light as well as the spoiler.

Concerned with the quality, I contacted the seller who is also the manufacturer of the spoiler. They told me the mold was messed up and they had fixed the issue and would send me a new spoiler (fixed) free of charge. Pleased with the customer service I awaited my next spoiler with my worries resolved. When receiving the next spoiler, I was quite upset when opening it. Although the gap was not as big as the first spoiler I received, there was still a gap in the same location that would allow water to enter into the light and spoiler.

The seller did end up refunding my money but they said about the issue of the gap:

"Maybe 1 out of 100 complain. I'll take that percentage, so I continue to sell it. Sorry you happen to be the one who doesn't like it."

I am happy I got my money back but pretty pissed they think that I am just being picky. I ended up installing the spoiler and used RV silicone to seal the light. Well, after a couple of months and a few good storms, I noticed water in my light. As of today, I have purchased a new spoiler from eSpoiler which appears to be much better quality and does not have a chance of having the same issues because the light is on the bottom edge of the spoiler.

Just wanted to share this info with anyone who finds this thread looking for a place to purchase a spoiler. I will update in a week or so when I get my new one from eSpoiler but as of right now, I would suggest getting one that has the light on the bottom edge like those from eSpoiler do.
