eBay Timing belt/Water pump kit - good value?

There are some 15-17 piece kits on ebay that cover tensioner and drive belts, I would look at those.
 
To add the tensioner and 3 belts from camelback, it would only be $17 savings before camelback shipping charges since it is not over $150. So its actually around the same price with ebay kit being a little more convenient being just one order coming all from the same place. But of course OP is free to choose how he orders it.
 
I am highly skeptical about the water pump. OEM "TOYOTA" water pump is expensive. Seller is supplying aisin (Aisin is a part supplier to TOYOTA just like denso for electrical and AC/fuel parts)

So why are you skeptical? Except for the red box it comes in and the price, that Aisin pump is exactly identical to the one you get from the dealer. I installed one in my truck. I also have Aisin clutch, clutch slave, and fan clutch.

TOYOTA water pump has TOYOTA written on the pump and not AISIN. All toyota parts suppliers can market their own brand made for toyota but without toyota logo. Any part with TOYOTA logo is made with stringent quality control.

Denso makes sensors for toyota, but denso sells sensors without toyota logo on it. If you buy a sensor from the dealer you'll see denso as well as toyota.

Yeah, I too got AISIN clutch and cover for my car because it is next close to the most expansive TOYOTA branded parts. So far those work great!

Shoot, Camelback has increased their price for free shipping? That stinks. It was $60 for me last year as a cost to qualify for free.shipping. Oh well I guess everything good must come to an end.

I wouldn't sweat using Aisin parts personally.

I don't and have never bought this argument. The only source I have ever seen mentioned for this is dealer parts guys. I strongly doubt AISIN and Denso derate their standards for replacement parts for 15-year old trucks. The runs are way too small. It would cost more than they would save to do that. There aren't enough pieces made to have various lots of components available with ranked quality tests. I have never had a problem with an AISIN or Denso part. I am not going to pay double for the red box and a TOYOTA plate inserted in the same body casting mold for a casting run. Be my guest, it's your truck, but it's a waste of money.

BTW, the factory pump DOES say AISIN as well as TOYOTA. My old one is in my trail spare box; I just looked.

Yes, they are, except it's Mitsuboshi, not Mitsubishi.
