Hey everyone,

I bought a AVN726E on ebay for cheap, but it didn't have any harnesses. I am in the process of buying additional harnesses, and was wondering, if the 16 pin connector circled below, is a direct swap for the harness that's in my stock system right now?

Can I just unplug it from the stock non-JBL head unit, and plug it into the circled connector below?

I did the same thing you did and regretted it unforuntately. The unit's GPS was screwed up and you need several harnesses to make it work, I've found only one company in America that still offers the wiring.

You will need to know the part numbers of the harnesses to order them. I think all told they are another $100 or so. I ended up putting my old unit back in when I could not get the 726e to turn off without amp pop (it sounded like it was going to blow my system every time it turned off).

I'm running the AVN726e and it works great in my setup. GPS, Backup Cam, Ipod control, Bluetooth are all spot on.

The only complaint I have about my setup is it seems a little on the quiet side but I think this has more to do with the JBL amp and harness than the AVN.

Thanks for all your help guys! I've got all the harnesses now, and I have my installation all planned out. Will get around to doing it this weekend, fingers crossed.

Can you tell me which harnesses you got.
Did it all work
How did you wire up the steering wheel controls.

You will need 3 different harnesses:

1. A 16-pin (Power and Speaker Connection) that matches up to the factory harness via the Metra or Scosche Harness adapter

2. A 20-pin adapter for the bluetooth mic, the subwoofer, external video, and iPod

3. A 16 pin for XM satellite radio, Parking, Reverse, and Steering wheel controls.

Contrary to popular belief, there is no Vehicle Speed Sensor wire for the AVN726e.



In order to wire the steering wheel harness:

pin 6 on the Toyota steering wheel harness (white with red stripe) goes to a ground.

pin 7 on the Toyota steering wheel harness (purple with white stripe) goes to the brown with black stripe wire on the Eclipse.

pin 8 on the Toyota steering wheel harness (yellow with blackish stripe) goes to the brown wire on the Eclipse

Hope this helps! It's a process getting it installed, but it's relatively straight forward, and it's an awesome system.
