Eclipse Nav unit Aux input problem

I have recently purchased a 2008 4Runner with an Eclipse AVN62 Navigation unit installed.
Love the truck, but the nav unit does not work thru the Aux input located in the center console. The radio works fine, cd player works, steering wheel controls even work. I plug in my sony walkman to the 3.5 jack and choose MP3 from the touchscreen menu under input and the message " no disc " is all I get.
Anyone with experience with this have any suggestions?

choose AUX input.

do a search for aux. there is a way you have to turn it on first for the aux option to work. like hold one button and text button?

Thanks -- I noticed that worked for another Eclipse device, but I couldn't find the right keys for the AVS62D. Let me keep googling on that -- I don't see it in the manual. I'll keep looking -- thanks!

here ya go

Step One: turn off the radio
Step Two: hold both the text and screen button down until it beeps and tells you the AUX is active.

Thank you, but are you sure this works for the AVN 62D? It doesn't have a "screen" or a "text" button. That must be for a different model of Eclipse.

oh sorry my bad. i should have done a little more reading. i thought you had the eclipse brand that came from the factory in some 08's. the aux in the center console is designed to work with factory decks. im not too sure if it will work with after market. i know mine no longer works after i upgraded my HU. im sure there is some sort of after market piece you will need to buy to make it work, and not really sure if its worth it. does the HU have a USB plug? or play MP3's? if so i would just those features. they will be much better and sound better too

Hey thanks and I'll always appreciate help. I'm using MP3s on CDs which isn't too bad afterall. It looks like I could get aggressive and just install the Ipod adapter as well as Sirius FM and the unit would be good enough. It also doesn't seem to know the headlights are on, so it is always wildly bright at night. I suspect there is a wiring problem as the unit itself is made to integate with the lights so it can spring into night mode...

Hey, thanks again!

yeah there will be an illum wire on the back. usually an orange color [at least thats been my exp] and its connected to the parking lights to dim the unit at night.
if it has USB capability i would plug your iPod in the unit that way. that way it charges and you can control iPod from unit.
