The other way, the back of that l beaker should be facing away from the roof, then the sides of the rack will mount on the outside so you can't see the braket.

I didn't, I used washers to raise the beaker so that I wouldn't have to trim the white plastic piece. Then just apply the silicon to seal it.
Quick question for those who received the rack...would it fit in the 4Runner the way it's packaged? DHL is offering to deliver it to my workplace since I can't get away this week to meet them at my house during delivery hours (12-3pm for Clovis NM). The delivery person seems to think it will fit but I'm skeptical.

Yes it will, just fold down the seats and take something to put over the center console so you can place the front of the rack on it.

OEM rack bolts aren't 100% compatible with the new mounts, or at least mine isn't. Time to engineer something
The rack should come with bolts so that you can attach those brackets.

Yes, it looks outstanding!
I see. My bolt pack must have been missing some bolts then. Mine had 26 bolts total and all are 3/8 while the OEM mounting bolts are smaller diameter like M8 x 1.25. Nothing a trip to lowes couldn't fix. No worries.
I'm considering doing black stainless hardware on all the visible bolts and washers to keep it all black.
