Not sure what size, I guy mounted a 30" but I'm sure you can go larger depending on what mounting points you use. I have no wind noice what so ever, I think a few other of the members are saying the same thing. The way I bolted mine was by flipping the bars to get extra clearance.

I'm thinking of jumping in on the 5th batch. Before I do... I've been through this whole thread and have two quick questions for those who've had their racks for a while.

How many trays and cross bars are you wishing you had? I'm thinking, two trays and 3 cross bars. Too much, too little? I thought I read, no more than 2 trays can be installed. How about cross bars? I also have the moonroof.

Also, I've read some having issues with the finish. Any inquiries to having some shipped in bare metal? Thanks!

I have a couple of questions...

I really like the looks of this rack....especially the low profile...

I have an ARB awning....from my FJ days...i believe its the 2500...or close to it...will it work on your rack?..

I had to make some adjustments on some of the mounts with the fj because the oem roof rack was not flat/level....

your thoughts?

No worries I love this rack and would do it again. Tons of compliments and the utility is awesome.

I think you'll be happy with it regardless of any short comings. Just take your time going over everything (make sure the mounting brackets are straight) and piecing it together before throwing it up top. I just used some of this (https://www.amazon.com/Dupli-Color-RF129-Rust-Fix-Treatment/dp/B001DKR4BE) to hit up any spots the powder coat had chipped off. Good luck!

I suppose it depends on your setup/intentions. Having said that, I think one tray is plenty and three cross bars are ideal. I don't have a moon/sunroof, so I can't say much to how that might affect things.

I am interested in this rack as well. I am an east coast guy and I have two 10 ft kayaks, can kayak carriers mount to this rack such as a Thule J rack, or can I just simply put the kayaks on top and strap them down? Does anyone use their rack for kayaks, if so please let me know. Thanks

I just unpacked mine to check the finish, everything looks good. The only issue I have is due to shipping/packaging and not manufacturing. One corner of my tray took a good hit and is bent and chipped and will have to be hammered out and repainted. Not too bad for a trip from South America

Not sure what the mounts for the kayaks look like but you could always strap them down to the crossbars. It would be nice to see someone tackle this and get some images of kayaks on this rack.

You're not the first one with this issue, I'm going to talk to Ecotechne and see if they can put some sort of foam around them so this stops. Thanks for the feed back.

All the guys in the west coast, I received the 3rd batch of racks and are scheduled to be picked up for shipping on Thursday through FedEx. I still have to unpack and sort through all the racks.

4th batch is out for delivery from Ecotechne and should be here on Friday at the latest.
