Does anybody have one set up with two trays?? I'm still searching google for images. Was curious too if anybody has added on like a mesh area on top for misc items to tie down, where as things aren't sitting on top of the vehicle and just on the mesh area....

QA is better for the mounts.. but one of the sides for my tray has like 1mm of metal

I was just hoping to get the answers to the other questions because in the OP, he mentions to only email if you're certain and ready to make a payment. I use tapatalk ap for forum surfing and there is 75 pages, was trying to avoid combing every page for answers if the question had been asked before. It would be good info to update into the original post.

Hey guys, have any of you guys had experience tying stuff down on the Ecotechne roof rack. If not, any ideas? I bought one and haven't put it on yet as I need to have it painted since it was heavily damaged in shipping.

Just looking at it and all the photos here, I don't really see a good system or way to tie things down. Also, I'm planning on installing an ARB awning but don't really see a great way to do that either. I did see one member who drilled into the tray and rail to mount a home made L bracket but I'd like the ability to move the trays around the rack if needed without having to move or modify the awning mounts.

Would LOVE to see your photos with the rack rigged out with gear and how you secured it. Thanks guys!

I managed to thread a cam strap through 2 of the light mounts on the fairing to the front of an inflatable kayak, tied the rear to the hitch, and added a few bungee cords in the extra crossbar mounting locations for additional pressure. Kayak didn't seem to move even at highway speeds.

Any idea if Yakima/Thule accessories are compatible with this rack?

For bike trays, the Rockymounts Tierods fit on the cross bars.

Ive asked a few times with no answer want to buy one if it will. I think rorck is the only one that has it at this point. Judging by the pictures it doesn't look like it has enough clearance for it but its hard to tell.

There are no details on it, few pictures, no description... just a price. There seems to be no interest in moving them either so I decided to pass on it and play it safe. Looks more like eye candy than real functionality.

On a side note, if anyone has size, quantity, and type of black SS fasteners to gather, I would appreciate the info, as I've got my rack ordered and I'd like to be prepared for install on delivery. :happy:

Really curious as you guys run a few tanks of gas through how if at all the rack effects your MPG.

Don't jump all over me with "that's not what we bought a 4Runner for" my Gobi had a 2-3 MPG drop. And if your do "overland" that equates to about 60 miles per tank... 60 miles could be the diff between making that next town and walking.

Man sorry I forgot this question was asked and I said I'd answer. We saw about .5 decrease in fuel. Average is 17mpg before the lift and only the rack and 275's. Our freeway commute is up hill each way so not the best for potential but it did not hurt it much.

As for the hood rack I'm almost positive it will fit. A guy off of Instagram bought one in batch 6th and he has a scoop. We will confirm as soon as he gets it. The rack is a little more for looks but certainly comes in handy when you have a roof rack full of gear. It does make a bit of wind noice but I love it and plan on keeping it mounted there. I haven't provided a lot of pics because there has already been talk about replicating it by some people on social media. I'll get some pics of it tomorrow just so you guys can gage if it will fit the scoop.
