If you're rolling solo, do it on the vehicle. I just picture a one man job scratching the f out of the truck lifting and aligning by yourself. Anyone in socal that needs another set of hands, I like newcastle...

I was stupid and in a hurry at first. And put a few scratches on the T4R before I slowed down and properly placed some card board. This was on a solo install. Strategically place cardboard and it should be done without scratches.

Hoping to find out as well - I have a CVT and should be getting my rack in a couple weeks. Based on my current setup, I'm hoping the brackets are long enough to fit the cross bars. And I hope the cross bars are strong enough to hold up the tent...

OP has a RTT mounted and the cross bars are STRONG. Should have my CVT before summer too. :usa2:

there is some noise, but it isn't bad at all. seem to notice noise above 65 mph maybe.

I'm hoping by next week, I know they are working on some changes to the whole rack to make it more user friendly as well but not sure when they will have the CAD done for that.

Did you just use it on the outer edges or on crossbars as well? How much did you use? I'm waiting on delivery of my rack and will be ordering some of this, just need to know how much to order. :thanks:

I've only got it on the front fairing and both edges of the cross bars. 40 ft will be more than enough for this. I'm debating getting some more and doing the bottom of the side rails, and the back piece, (easier if you do it before install). It's an easy process, I just used a plastic trim tool and a rag underneath as I went along.

Interested in both the rack and Hood Rack

I am running a 2017 TRD off road and am looking at both the hood rack and the roof rack. Heck, ill probably end up with the bumper, ladder and rear bumper eventually

I am curious about the Hood Rack. I dont see much about it in here, but I have not gone through all 54 pages.

How does it attach to the hood? I have been told it would probably clear the hood scoop, but has anyone done this?

Also, does anyone know where to get good Ditch light mounts for the 2017?
