Got the right bracket today and after a cpl hours of trying to fit the top bracket.... I'm not impressed. I could not adjust the top bracket away from the body and it ended up cutting through the paint to bare metal...

Same thing happened with mine. Wish the instructions weren’t so terrible.

pretty much followed the same procedure and still rubbed to bare metal....prolly will take it all off to primer/paint.

I did some measuring and found if I bought two Wolf boxes from FrontRunner they would fit perfectly in the tray as long as I cut a slit on one end of the box to slip over the flange the tray attaches to. The cool thing is that these "lock" the boxes onto place on the ends. I also bought their straps and eye bolts too. It's a pretty rare day when things work out so smoothly. I cut the slit on a table saw. (edit, I can't fix the upside down picture and I'm tired of trying... sorry)

Do those slits create an opening to the main compartment? Or is that slit area self- contained? Just wondering in case it rains.

No, they don't cut into the main container. I should have been more clear on this. However, the main containers have four small drain holes in the bottom. While I wouldn't classify these as water-proof, they are very water resistant and could probably be easily made close to water-proof with a off the shelf gasket.

Since you seem to still be the only 4th gen guy posting up in here. Any issues with the rack after running it for a little bit?

I just mounted too much weight bouncing around on the stock crossbars on my last trip and am now looking for a bit more carrying capability. I love the low profile look of this rack and hoping to still fit in my garage door with stuff mounted to it...

Sorry, i've been MIA forever! No issues at all. Wish there was a little more options for tie downs, but other than that everything has been great. Super solid rack, no wiggle at all. My light bar makes so much noise though, so couldn't tell you if the rack alone is noisy.

tl;dr: It's the political unrest, stupid.

I got notification from Ecotechne near the end of August that the rack was heading my way. I'm in Group 10 and ordered the whole shebang (rack, ladder, hood rack and some extra bits).

The email from Ecotechne didn't indicate what parts were being sent, but the FedEx tracking page indicated two pieces in the shipment totaling about 300 pounds.

I've been monitoring the lack of any movement over the past few weeks, even though FedEx estimated the shipment to be delivered today. It's been sitting in Valencia, Carabobo since August 25.

I spoke with a representative at the international freight desk and she confirmed that yes, it is still sitting at their depot in Valencia and no, it's not moving due to the ongoing political situation. She mentioned there have been some shipments moving every few weeks or so, but no guarantees and no regularity.

I'm sure others are in the same situation. Just wanted to post my experience.

In case anyone's curious, the direct number to the FedEx Freight dispatch desk is 800 233 8444.

Same situation here. Got my original email from Ecotechne on Aug. 16th with a tracking # that never worked and then got a new tracking # on the 25th that showed a delivery estimate of yesterday. It appears that my stuff is still in VE with no new delivery estimate.
