If anyone is interested in a rack sooner than the group buy Im selling mine. I live outside Sacramento. It's the current (V2) version. It has the black hardware, locally powder-coated and has extra tray and extra crossbar, aluminum mounting plates, edge trim and I also made a metal front fairing to close the front gap. $850. perfect condition. it makes my limited look a bit top heavy in my opinion and wife didn't like the look. very functional but just too much rack for me.

Yes, I received an email from Ecotechne on Aug. 16 with a FedEx tracking number that never worked and another email from them on Aug. 28th which has showed the rack to be sitting in the FedEx facility in VE since the 25th of last month. I have called and emailed FedEx but so far, they haven't been able to provide any idea of if or when it might ship. At this point, I'm not sure getting a tracking # means much as we're all in the same boat.

Sucks that you guys are not getting any sort of info on your purchases. I'm not sure why Ecotechne's website no longer works or why Rorck is not responding, but they both post regularly on instagram.

For any of you that haven't received your rack I would definitely you credit card company, Paypal, or how ever you paid for it. With Ecotechne's site being down, and with [MENTION=109477]Rorck[/MENTION] actively viewing the forum but not responding to the thread I would be concerned. Usually when a company's site goes down, and people stop communicating it's not a good sign. For now I think I'll wait on this until I start seeing some progress.

Hopefully everything will be OK for you guys.

Agree with your comment. I asked for pics of one on a 3rd gen a while back and [MENTION=109477]Rorck[/MENTION] only had one pic to show. It looked promising too but now i come back to find out a bunch of members paid for a rack and might not get it definitely sucks

I know people are worried about their money, and that is understandable, but there is nothing Rorck can really do, he's just a middle-man/organizer.

I hope everything works out for everybody, but man the situation there looks completely horrible looking at the news.

FWIW,

My batch #10 shipment which was sitting in Valencia since August 25 was shown being moved to Caracas on Friday (9/22). It's been scanned each day, since.

Possibly moving closer to an airport, but still a ways away from me.

I'm planning on fulfilling my childhood dreams of becoming an exporter/importer, once it arrives. Already bit the bullet on a Front Runner rack and have my rear bumper plans now including a ladder.

Anybody want a rack and ladder combo once it arrives stateside?

I think everybody realizes that, but the complete lack of communication on the forum front is rather disturbing.

That comment is coming from someone who organizes some rather large Group Buy's as well. If something goes wrong on one of mine I'm the first to jump in to see what's going on, and I'm honest about it. I would have been all over this regardless of is I were the middle man or not.

When someone new to this Group Buy like myself starts reading comments, and seeing a real lack of comunication by the organizer it really throws up a red flag. I know [MENTION=109477]Rorck[/MENTION] has nothing to do with it, but he as the organizer should at least be chiming in and doing his do diligence.

My ladder is for sale - $250. It's brand new and never mounted. You must pick it up in So.Cal. - I will not ship it.

I've decided not to go with a ladder at all as I stand on my sliders to load my rack.

It sucks for you guys that haven't got your racks yet and I do hope you guys get your racks soon, you'll be very satisfied with it's strength and looks.

Thought I would share. At this point I just want insured that I will eventually get my roof rack. I have a pending trace/case number through FedEx. They have been nothing but helpful and keep submitting inquiries. Stated that they requested another update. I also Emailed ecotechne this morning and this was their response. Not exactly sure why this is but figured I'd pass along the information "Good morning, the information that our agent of fedex indicated is that the shipments are paralyzed because the flights that are doing are not enough, the Ecotechne accessories are waiting for their departure as soon as I have new information I will tell you. we apologize for the delay". Sounds similar to a post from a couple weeks ago about they'll ship when they can. Outside of blowing up FedEx s hotline everyday multiple times a day, I'm not sure this will be a priority and will remain in Valencia. Getting pretty close to that point. Squeaky wheel gets the grease! I know this may not excite anyone but wanted to share my experience that is most likely close to everyone else's.

I have been speaking with FedEx for approximately a week since my rack has been getting scanned frequently but hasn't actually moved since the 25th of Aug. FedEx informed me today that the facility in Caracas is beyond their actual capacity and the limited number of flights in and out are essentially not allowing them to change that. They told me that they informed (or should have) the shipper that there would be extremely long wait times and that information should have been passed along. They said don't expect the rack to move to Caracas any time soon and once there, I should expect similar delays. Ecotechne has bee responsive via email but I would have cancelled my order had I been presented with the details FedEx indicated that should have been provided to the shipper.
