Ecotechne roof rack GROUP BUY!!!

I am in the market for a rack. My only experience with this rack is talking with a local person who has a used one for sale. Powder coating was terrible. Had to re-powder coat everything. I am not sure, but the added thickness may have required some mounting mods. Steel bolts provided rusted and had to be replaced with SS. Enough for me to move on for now.

I bought a used one that was never installed. Powder coating isn't horrible(not 100% even where some spots are darker than others) but its not bad where I feel like I have to re-coat it. Nothing I have has rusted yet but my car is garaged.

does anyone know what is different from v1 to v2?

its at v3.. or higher now

V2 has a redesigned front light bar mounting and the wind deflector is redesigned for that.

v3 seems to have the side rails chopped up into smaller pieces that get bolted together.

not sure if theres a v4 now?

I wonder if any of them have a larger gap between the rack and the body/roof. I am drawn to this rack because it fits very close to the body.

Anybody else have issues with their tray being too small? Finally got the time to install my v2 and the tray I received is a good inch too small.....

Received my rack a couple of weeks ago and finally was able to install it yesterday. I did it in the dark... so I need to make some adjustments because the front driver side taps on the roof when I hit bumps. I was able to squeeze a 42" light bar on the front.

There are ordering instructions in the first post, but you basically email the OP and set it up. You send PayPal to him directly and he processes the order. I believe this is because the manufacturer doesn't have a commercial presence in the US.

Despite the many in this thread who have received this already, I opted to pay an additional $22 and call this "goods and services" in order to secure my purchase. I'm confident I have nothing to worry about, but my old pop would verbally abuse me if he knew I was unwilling to pay $22 in insurance on a $750 purchase.

Anyone know where I could find some instructions or intel on how to install the ecotechne ladder. Just picked one up but looking at the parts it doesn’t seem as straight forward as I thought it would be. The rack was super simple to install but not sure about the ladder

[MENTION=175512]Rodney[/MENTION], do a search... they were sending out the wrong pieces or pieces that were fabbed backwards, you may have one of those in which case you can not mount it.

ps, mine is rusting already and i have only had it since August. IMHO their products are garbage and this company won't be around for too long. Design is kind of cool but fit and finish are not.

I was told lead times were a week.. about a week ago. The OP said that the racks were finished and ready to ship, so my expectation is that I would have received some sort of tracking notification by now.

To me "lead time" means from order generation to completion. I've had zero communication and no tracking since then.

Sent an email today - if I don't get a response within a day or so I will probably cancel my order through PayPal and get a Prinsu rack.

To clarify - I don't mind waiting, I just hate having an expectation of something that is completely wrong. If it's a month wait I'm ok, tell me a month..

Figured out how to install the ladder! It was fairly simple but would have been a lot easier with a second set of hands. All in all I like it looks good. IMO the Baja rack is a little to small or petite. I like the beefiness of this one.

I still haven't heard anything about my order that was supposed to ship in a week, nor have I received a response to either off the two emails I sent over the past 3 days.

Turns out mine was shipped on the 7th, Rorck was on vacation and simply was unable to forward tracking information.

Arrival should be on the 19th. I'll probably install it same day.. Really excited to get this, will report back with pics!

The damn shipment hasn't updated at all, scheduled delivery was for today - Now there is an update to the shipment showing a scan in.. Venezuela. It literally hasn't moved in 2 weeks.
