In my opinion the hood rack is mainly an item that is for looks. I say this because it's already hard to see what is in front of these things and that hood rack will really compound this issue while off road. I wish mine didn't have the scoop as it gets in the way of my sight.
The one thing I can think of that would be ok to mount on the hood rack would be a solar panel since it will out of the way and leave the entire roof rack for other stuff, but it will still severely hurt your sight lines. not worth it to me. YMMV.
I really like the roof rack. Would like to know how easy it is to attach things to it with it being so low profile. When you get a chance please post up more details on it. Thanks.

. 2.5mm cold rolled steel.
. Maximum weight it will support is 992lb.
. Absolutely no drilling involved, it uses all OEM attachment points.
. The rack itself weighs about 85lb.
. Powder coated flat black.
. All hardware is included.
The rack is super solid. I got on it this morning to access my attic and had no problems. I will be mounting my new roof top tent hopefully this week but I'll take good pictures before I do.

You are absolutely right. The hood rack does take visibility away. I haven't wheeled with it yet but I'm sure it will get in the way. Also not sure if it would fit the scooped trail or pro trim.
I love the looks and that is why I plan on keeping mine on. I hope I can just get used to them.

Really like this rack. Might have to get rid of my Prinsu for this if a larger order is placed in the future.

I'll be curious to see how a RTT is attached to this rack without any sort of cross rails. It seems like this rack doesn't have any mounting points, but is designed as more of a 'tray'. Either way, looks slick.
