ECT Button

I have an '02 SR5 Sport and normally keep the ECT button in the normal position, but the other day I decided to put it on power and nothing happened. When I pressed it, it lit up but when I let go it released and the light went out. Any ideas on what could be wrong?

ECT button just keeps the RPM's, changes the shift points higher, its good for when your towing

bad switch, its a two position switch, position one; is up/out and no light on, position two is down/in, and light on. it should stay in what ever position is selected until it is pushed again then it returns to the "other" position. if the switch is not saying down/in then the switch is broken and you probably just need a new switch. all the switch does is hold shifts and change shift points, it doesn't give you "more" power
