The only immobilizer it has is when it's in the shop!that keeps it pretty immobile!!

It's getting so that i might have the solenoid replaced... I know this one tested good..but now i have my doubts... at the very least i'll have a new solenoid. is it something that i can crawl under and replace myself?
You guys can tell I would like to try everything before messing in the glove box.

No it's not hard. You just have to drop the pan. Just a pain to keep refilling the fluid if you don't fix it. Is that the only code you have?? It would be really weird for that to be the only code with a major malfunction. I'm guessing the mechanic only focused on that code out of a list of codes. I wonder if the dealership would do a deep code scan for you? If we can see all the trouble codes that might help point you in the right direction to the root of the problem. All trouble codes almost always come with a faulty module as last resort. I don't know your skill level in this subject but at this point I would get out my multimeter and test light.

At the time it was the only code.. Currently there aren't any codes(but that was the last one as indicated) because i had to jump the truck because it sat for a while. I'm handy with a Fluke meter.. I wish i had more room and a lot more know- how. If the solenoid isn't too expensive i might have them swap it as a point of elimination just the labor i guess.. I'll call them and see what the cost is.

That's another option. Swapping the solenoids to verify they are good.
Pulling the pan isn't hard. Lots of people do it. I put feelpro gaskets in myself. Most just silicone it back on.

That's right there are three. Are you planning on doing this yourself or the mechanic? Either way I would recommend changing all three of the solenoids the filter and a new gasket at the same time. I'm sure you can actually buy all those as a whole kit. If you do it yourself the only ***** is getting all the old gasket maker off if the mechanic used that. Get a gasket instead of that gasket maker. It will make your life much easier if you need to pull the pan again. Scraping that shit off takes longer than the the rest of the job.

I'm going to do this... I wont be doing this myself. I need to rely on the dealer... it's been a dealer maintained truck since i drove it off the lot for the first time.

Hopefully that will be the end of your problem! You should request the condition of the pan magnets for peace of mind. They give you valuable information on wear and tear and if any major mechanical issues are present. I love seeing clean magnets!

All,
After getting prices for my solenoids i asked what the charge would be to install them. I was informed that they don't do transmission work. They said something about if the parts were replaced(solenoids) "pressures" would change and that could damage my Transmission and if that happened then they would have to deal with that..
This sound normal to anyone?

What it really sounds like is you need to find a new shop. Changing out the solenoids will not do any damage to your transmission. That is a flat out lie.
The solenoids can be bench tested, I'll see if I can find the FSM page for it. Basically, you give each solenoid 12v to check to see if they are opening and closing. The second test is for Ohms (should be between 11-15 ohms). The third test is to pressure test them (apply 71psi to see if they hold and don't leak air). Based on what they've told you so far, I bet that they didn't even test the solenoids.
Find a shop that will actually diagnose the solenoids following the FSM or you could just replace them to rule that out.
What year and trim level is your 4R? I have a 99 4WD A/T ECU sitting on my shelf from my donor truck but as others have mentioned, the ECU is almost never the issue.
