ECT is Electronically Controlled Transmission, and when you hit the button it changes the shift points to a little higher up the torque curve. It'll impact your gas mileage, and the motor will rev higher before shifting. I never used it unless I was pulling a really long grade.

Why aren't you running a cat converter? It serves a function, and the impact on performance is negligible if it's working correctly.

the cat was rusted badly so when i replaced muffler didnt put it back on.. would replaceing it be that substantal to preformance i need all i can get this six dont have much power?

They don't have much power regardless but I am running a California cat in 2.25 or 2.5 whatever is one size up from stock with a flowmaster 40 series knockoff and with windows up it is rather quiet but with windows down it has a nice deep tone, not all wet and raspy like it used to sound. I am also running a s&b cold air intake which is very nice but doesn't do much for power unless your at w.o.t. I maybe have a few horse over stock but not really noticeable. I would recommend if redoing exhaust if you have the extra money to get headers to ease up the heat on that #6 cyl head gasket( its were it always blows). I need some for mine too. Hope this helps
