ECT switch-does it really work?

What exactly does that do to tranny when you go from economy to power? I have tried it and do not really see a difference.

Got my first try with truck in snow this weekend and was very impressed, 4 wheel drive with 31.10.5x15 's and it goes through anything and is very stable.

All it does is change the shift points (RPMs where it shifts from one gear to the next).
