ECU questions.

Hey guys I was looking at this http://www.toyota-4runner.org/tsb/7...ine-controls-ecu-reprogramming-procedure.html and just didnt really answer my questions. I'm about to embark on an adventure of swapping my engine with a 1uz and want to know how to make the power train work with my transmission, I noticed that the 96ls400 has the a340 in it, could I just use that ECU? What are my options if I decide to go with a 5spd? Would it be easier with a manual? Any help is apperciated.

Both have one ECU that controls EFI and trans, right?
You'd have to get wiring diagrams for both vehicles and do a pin-to-pin comparison of signals. Then you'd have to see if the ECU connectors matched.

If you use a manual you'll have to do some work to make the ECU think the auto is there.
