Edmunds Says $500 Over MSRP is a Fair Price on a 2021 SR5 4R Premium

I checked Edmunds today and they say $500 over MSRP is a fair price for a 2021 Toyota SR5 Premium. I paid 10% under MSRP in early 2020.
For fun I checked my 2020 SR5 Premium and its is supposed to have a value of $40k

I checked a vehicle I've been following for a couple years before I bought a 4R...

$53,371 "MSRP"
$54,945 "Fair Price"

Baring any horrific vehicle crushing accidents or theft Im out of the car market for awhile. This is goddam stupid this pricing.

(Note: I edited the MDX prices. I had them reversed. MSRP < Fair Price is correct)

Pretty crazy isn’t it. Similar pricing going on with the tundras and the HD diesel trucks right now. High demand and very low supply. Not that I was planning on changing vehicles in the near future anyway but I’m definitely out of the new car market until it cools off as well.

I usually buy a new vehicle every two years. I've done that for over 20 years. Not this time. I've had my 4Runner for two years and I'm keeping it at least another two.
