EGR Valve

Howdy,

Been chasing down a P0171 cel code. I think I have a bad air intake connection. OEM narrow hose clamp maxed out and a small "leak". (What's the term for a suck-leak? ) Any way I bought a wifi OBD2 unit and OBD Fusion on my iPhone to narrow the possibilities.

This set-up gave me an "X-X" on the EGR meaning it either doesn't exist on my model (2000 T4R Ltd, 3.4 V6 Auto 4x4) or it's not communicating properly with the link.

I have searched but can find no picture of an EGR valve or mention for a thread.

Any clues?

Is this an easy replace like a PCV valve?

No, it's pretty tough as there is no EGR on any OBDII 3.4L V6.

Vacuum leak. and yup no EGR. If you have a vacuum leak as it sounded like you noticed fix it and clear the code. That will set a P0171
