Hello. I'm looking at picking up a 2020 TRD Prem. I am very interested in this lift kit and am wondering if it will cause issues with the Toyota Safety Sense? I read multiple things from multiple sources on both the Tacoma and Tundras with TSS. Some say it causes nothing while other say it has issues. I have also read that Toyota will void warranty if vehicles with TSS are lifted. Not only that but they will void warranty for anything fitted to the vehicle that did not come from the factory including different rims. This seems crazy. Anyone know especially if your in the industry if this is actually true? Thanks!

there are threads on this forum that address and explain that warranty's can't be nulled just b/c you do non-associated modifications to the car. just do a search.
i.e. changing the suspension can't be an excuse for an electrical or engine warranty claim

This is correct - look up the Magnuson-Moss Act.

I actually spoke with the Warranty and Extended warranty company yesterday about this. The rep stated the replaced parts would not be covered as they are not OEM, this is null as the swapped parts are normally covered by the suspension companies.

Next, I asked about the connecting parts ie: CV's ball joints. I was informed they would be covered as long as the lift was not over 4" and/or tires were not more than 2 sizes larger than original.

I told him my local dealership wanted 30% over market to order the kit and warranty the kit and this would retain the factory warranty. The rep stated this was not necessary as those parts are not "toyota approved" he stated the dealership was likely trying to pass the lift as "toyota approved" by they themselves ordering it.

All in all, the rep said anything not swapped would remain covered and to be sure it was installed by someone or shop who knows what they're doing... happy lifting!!!

^true that! Dealer told me that years back. I asked if he was willing to back up his word and lose a sale if he was wrong. He said yes, I went and bought at another dealer and manager fired the dude. He told me aftermarket stereo would void the entire warranty. Why? Was trying to sell me a model with upgraded sound

I keep reading where the clip setting has no effect on lift height. I m having a hard time wrapping my head around this.

I thought I was very familiar with this. Can someone simplify for me?

If you're referring to the clip setting on the shock, that literally determines the ride height of the front of the vehicle using these shocks. Wherever you're reading that it doesn't effect ride height, it's incorrect. Added weight such as a winch or aftermarket bumper will make ride heights vary but the increased clip settings are intended to combat this kind of extra weight.

I have no official Toyota documentation to back this up but, I have a hard time imaging Toyota would think that a 4 inch lift would not be considered excessive in relation to premature CV axle and boot wear. If they in fact told you 4 inches would be the max, I wonder how they are measuring it. 4 inches seems excessive in relation to center hub to lower fender lip.

I’m guessing 4" includes the tire height difference

I ordered mine from Toytec. Delivery on Monday-hopefully I can get them installed next weekend. Thanks to Toytec for the quick turnaround!

Not sure, I’m not going over 3 so I didn’t dig any deeper. He mentioned needing a diff drop for the 4x4 models, told him this kit didn’t need one and had been thoroughly tested to prove that point.
Told him my plans, he said to have fun and enjoy the vehicle.

Sounds like he doesn't know what he is talking about.
Good luck.

What would be the resulting lift with about 120lbs added to the front?

Does it maintain ride comfort?
